The River Don, well known for many years as a good Salmon/ Sea Trout river, has excellent Wild Brown Trout fishing.
The river flows through the flood plain for around 5 miles, with 21 named pools offering a wide range of water features, from fast flowing streamy runs, rocky pools, and gentle gliding water with deep holding pools where the trout often rise to the abundant fly life, offering the dry fly angler considerable scope.
Well maintained banks and wading on sandy-gravel bottom provides the opportunity for covering most pools.
